Frequently asked questions
How do I invite my partner?
Open Settings → Account & Sharing and share the “Partner / editor” code. They enter it on the Account screen of their own device after signing in with Apple or Google.
How do I invite someone without showing them the budget?
Share the “Helper (read-only)” code instead. They can view the wedding but can't edit it or see your budget, payments, vendor costs, or contracts.
How do I sync across my devices?
Sign in with the same Apple Account or Google account on each device — your wedding syncs automatically.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. If you pay monthly, cancel your subscription first — deleting your account doesn't cancel it. For weddings you own, the app asks whether to hand them to your partner or delete them; a wedding your partner pays for passes to them.
I found a bug or have a feature request.
We'd love to hear it — email support@tqtechsoft.com.
Plans & billing
How much does Wedding Journal cost?
€8.99 per month (cancel any time) or €59.99 once to unlock one wedding for good — or the equivalent the App Store shows in your currency (in Romania, in lei). Prices include VAT. One plan covers everyone in the wedding — only one of you pays.
Do I need to pay to start?
No. Creating a wedding starts a 7-day free trial automatically — no payment details, nothing charged automatically. After 7 days the wedding becomes read-only until one of you chooses a plan.
I had an account before paid plans started. What happens?
Your wedding stays fully free through 31 October 2026. You can choose a plan now and confirm it with Apple after that date (nothing is charged until you confirm), or pay now. If you do nothing, your wedding becomes read-only on 1 November 2026 — nothing is deleted.
My partner already paid. Do I need to pay too?
No. The plan belongs to your wedding, so you're included. The app won't let either of you buy a second plan while one is active; Settings → Plan shows who manages it.
We chose a plan during the free period. What now?
After 31 October 2026 the person who chose it confirms it in the app with one tap (Apple charges then). Until they confirm, the wedding is read-only. The partner can also pay instead.
How do I cancel my monthly plan?
On the iPhone of the person who paid: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Wedding Journal → Cancel, or in the app: Settings → Plan → Manage subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. The wedding stays unlocked until the end of the month already paid.
I bought the one-time payment. Is there anything to cancel?
No — nothing renews.
Can I switch from monthly to the one-time payment?
Yes, if you're the one who pays monthly: buy the one-time payment on the plans screen (full price), then cancel the monthly subscription in your Apple settings — Apple doesn't cancel it for you.
How do I get a refund?
Only Apple can refund App Store purchases: reportaproblem.apple.com → “Request a refund” → Wedding Journal.
I paid but my wedding is still read-only.
Make sure you're online and in the right wedding, close and reopen the app, update to the latest version, and on the device of the person who paid tap Restore on the plans screen. Still locked? E-mail support@tqtechsoft.com with the purchase date and the order ID from Apple's receipt e-mail (never send card details).
“Your Apple Account already pays monthly for another wedding.”
Apple allows one active monthly subscription per Apple Account. Choose the one-time payment, or let another Apple Account pay.
Payment problem / “Payment failed”.
Apple couldn't charge the card of the person who pays. They should update their payment method (iPhone Settings → their name → Payment & Shipping). Editing continues during Apple's 16-day grace period; after that the wedding is read-only while Apple keeps retrying, and editing comes back as soon as the payment goes through. Don't buy a second plan while the person who pays is still in your wedding. If they're no longer in it (they deleted their account, left, or became a Helper (read-only)), they can't fix it from the app: once editing pauses, one of you can choose a plan instead.
Can I be part of two weddings?
You can be the owner or partner of one wedding and a Helper (read-only) in any number of others. Switch between them in Settings → Account & Sharing → My weddings.
What happens to our plan if one of us deletes their account or leaves?
Deleting an account or leaving doesn't cancel an Apple subscription — cancel it first. A wedding paid for by the partner passes to them if the owner deletes their account; a one-time payment stays with the wedding.
The app says “Time to update”.
Update Wedding Journal from the App Store; your wedding stays readable and exportable meanwhile.
My purchase says “Waiting for approval”.
Ask to Buy is on: a family organiser must approve it. The wedding unlocks as soon as it's approved.
Where's my receipt?
Apple is the seller and e-mails the receipt; you can also find it at reportaproblem.apple.com.
